At the Vermont Rural Health Symposium a doctor told this favorite true story of a patient (then 99 years old) who was asked why he still went to work every day fixing tractors. The nonagenarian replied: “Have you met my wife?”
Now 103, he’s still working.
Another North Country wit (from across the border in NH I think) reminded me of the old story:
Question: “How many children do you have?”
North Country answer: “Four. Three living and one in Manchester.”
