Heard in Auburn: “How you doing?”
“Just bought a new underground condo.”
“Is that right?”
“Ayuh, and I’m dying to move in.”
Then David Griffin, trustee of cemeteries, quipped: “I took his money!”
Bucky from New Boston, Fourth of July, (don’t you love the details?) when asked how he was doing, said: “I’m above the topsoil.”
And finally, this from Don Dollard: “If I felt any better, I couldn’t stand it.”
