A Thanksgiving Story:
The fresh turkeys were just 79 cents a pound. Doris cooked one and it was so good she bought two more and froze them.
A Frugal Yankee Story:
Jenny at the market looked over all the cheeses. She loves Swiss, but it was $5.99 a pound and, she thought, it’s mostly holes.
A Nimrod Story:
From the news a couple of weeks ago. True story, I clipped it and put the clipping in my little black story-gathering book because you can’t make these things up. Gallen “Nimrod” Winchell of Georgia cleaned the cobwebs out of his exterior eaves ... with a blowtorch. Luckily, only part of the house burned, but the smoke and water damage to the part that didn’t burn was substantial.
