This week, I get to share some fun personal news! As some of you may know, I have a blog called Cute Potato: Your Guide to Kid-Friendly Maine. The blog, which turns five this June, highlights activities, restaurants, shops, and more that appeal to families. Cute Potato is a labor of love for me. It gives me great joy to celebrate all of the wonderful places and people in the state I call home. The blog is also the perfect extension of what I do at Islandport Press. I feel fortunate to promote Maine and its creative community each day.
That being said, you can imagine my excitement when I was selected to be 'A Maine Insider' for the Maine Office of Tourism. My family and I were asked to shoot a short film on location last August. We spent a beautiful morning at Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park, followed by trips to the Harraseeket Lunch & Lobster, and Mainely Custard in Freeport. Later in the day, we traveled to downtown Bath and finished filming at the Maine Maritime Museum.
The result of our work? This sweet video that appears on the Visit Maine web site. I'll always be grateful to the talented crew for capturing this incredible day in our lives.
Coming up: The Visit Maine site will highlight all of the things my family loves to do throughout the seasons. You'll see posts from me on our travels and experiences. I hope you'll share some of your family's favorite day trips in Maine, too.
