Last Friday, we officially launched John Ford's wonderfully entertaining book, Suddenly, The Cider Didn't Taste So Good: Adventures of a Game Warden in Maine in both print and ebook format (The Kindle version is available, Nook and iBook versions in process). The initial response has been
great from readers and media alike. In case you missed some of the stories: Reporter Beth Staples profiled John in the Waterville Sentinel and the Maine Sunday Telegram, John Holyoke reviewed the book in The Bangor Daily News, and Bill Green interviewed John on WCSH-TV for his "Green Outdoors" segment. ... Meanwhile, we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of John McDonald's Maine Trivia: A Useful Guide to Useless Information from our printer. We expect to being shipping copies next week. Reporter Meredith Goad interviewed John for a Q&A that ran in the Maine Sunday Telegram. ... Illustrator (and soon-to-be author) Astrid Sheckels (above) will celebrate the release of her latest book Hope Somewhere in America (written by Sydelle Pearl) at the World Eye Bookshop in Greenfield, Massachusetts on April 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. The book was published by Twin Lights Publishers. Astrid, as you hopefully recall, is the fantastic illustrator of The Scallop Christmas and The Fish House Door and is the author/illustrator of Nic & Nellie, which we will release in the spring of 2013. ... If you are looking for something to do on Friday, John Ford will be signing copies of his book at the Unity College Library from 6 to 7 p.m. ... And, finally, Maine was ranked the nation's Most Peaceful State by the Institute for Economics & Peace. The institute defines peace as "absence of violence."
